The Hifime ADC i2S is an analog to digital converter made with the CS5381 ADC chip. It outputs a i2s signal using HDMI (not regular audio/video HDMI format). It can be connected to a HDMI to USB device like our UH1 Digital, or other devices that accepts i2s over HDMI inputs. it uses 3 pieces OP275 as input buffer, and the clocks source is SA8133 PLL chip.
The ADC accepts 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 64kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz, 128kHz, 176.4kHz and 192kHz sample rates. This is selectable with the front buttons and the display will show the sample rate. It operates at 24 bit conversion
The ADC requires a 6-9VDC of minimum 500mA (not included).
More information about the analog to digital conversion can be obtained from the CS5381 datasheet.
Instructions
It is very straight forward to use, just remember to use this setup to avoid issues:
Set desired sample rate on the ADC. You also have to set the same sample rate on the computer if using it together with a i2d to USB device as the Uh1. In Mac open Audio midi settings and set the input sample rate to the same as set on the ADC unit. it should be set to 24 bit as
