Tripath TK2050 amp for 9V to 24V
The T1-M amp is made with the TK2050 chipset with the famous TC2000 controller and sta508 output stage chip. We made this lower powered TK2050 to be in the same category as the TA2020 and TA2022, but used the TK2050 because we think that the TK2050 is better sounding.
Sometimes it’s required to power a Tripath amp with a lower DC voltage than what’s needed by the other T1 , T2 , T3 , T4 models. This amp can be powered from a single 12V battery, or other 12V to 24V DC supply. This makes it great for cars, boats, cabin or other portable setups.
Also this amp is cheaper than the others because the production costs goes as the parts don’t have to rated for 50V.
Power requirement
This amp can be powered from any DC voltage from 9V to 24V. Note: 24V power supply is absolute max. It is not recommended to run on 24V except if you are sure the voltage is constant and will not go above 24V. SMPS supplies are normally constant, while a linear supply might have higher spikes.
Additional info
- The volume switch also acts as a on / off switch.
- Important to know about Tripath amps: Ground on the two channels can not be connected together
- It is ok to only connect 1 speaker and leave the other channel unconnected if desired
- This amp can not be bridged
- There is an indication light on the board close to the volume switch, it lights up when power is connected and the amp is off. The light goes off when the amp is on.

This is of intimidatingly good quality and just state of the art where value for money goes. Got one, then several after realizing my oldest kit needs to go.

Amazing value for the money! It sounds insanely good for the price. It easily beats my modded TA-2020 amp and driving my little Magnat speakers, it’s quite on par with my main amp, which costs about thousand bucks more.
The screw terminals for the wires are nice, so unless you want, there’s really minimal soldering needed, save for the grounding wire and the power led you might want to mount to your case. Yes, there is an actual green power led besides the mentioned orange standby led. (I didn’t realize this from the product description.)
The only thing i feel missing are relays for the speakers to prevent that little pop when powered on, thou the tiny high pitched pop sounds quite harmless really.
If you are looking for a small, inexpensive amp, this is really a no-brainer.
Hell, i’ll even urge you to get one just to be amazed what can be accomplished for thirty bucks nowadays.

I bought it just to make a small amp for a spare desk cd player i had aside. This is a killer tiny amp. Clear , detailed and punchy. Drives my alesis monitors with very good result. Recommended 100%.

A screaming good deal. There is not much to do to get it up and running and the sound is very clear and musical. In comparison to the ta2020/2021/2024 amps, it has a great deal more muscle. The bass is stronger and the sound generally more full.
In comparison to other Hifimediy amps, the T1-M amp runs very cool and can be squeezed into a small enclosure without fear. The T1 and T2 run hotter, but they do offer more detail and sense of ease. That said, the T1-M produces wonderful music, cheaply, and conveniently.
It can also run on a very wide range of voltages. I had great luck with a 19v computer power supply.
For the money, this is a no brainer.

great value for money, well builded, nice layout for compact housing, dc offset can reach less than 1 mV. now it works with 20 V laptop psu. I appreciate a lot the extended voltage supply compared with TA2020 and TA2022 when i use small speakers that usually they pay hi quality with low efficiency.
